The Foundation of Gray Collegiate Academy
We aim to create a legacy of distinction in all aspects of a student’s education.
Delivering a high-quality educational experience geared to the growth of the whole child requires continuous commitment to exceptional learning experiences and advanced methods of delivery. To this end, Gray Collegiate Academy has emerged as a statewide leader in academics and athletics. Each day approximately 800 students are guided through successful experiences in a disciplined, encouraging environment.
Gray Collegiate Academy fills a unique niche’ as a public high school, open to all students. While Gray Collegiate, like all South Carolina public schools, receives state funding, we do not receive any local tax funding. Just as with other schools, additional funding is required for educational resources and opportunities.
The Foundation of Gray Collegiate Academy exists to supplement funding in creating a legacy of distinction, second to none, in all aspects of a student’s education.
Our Mission
To achieve these goals, The Foundation of Gray Collegiate Academy will work to provide valuable resources and opportunities to our students and staff. This includes school grants, classroom technology, athletic facilities, community events, and more. The Foundation allows us to support the mission of Gray Collegiate Academy beyond the limits of its annual budget.
What We Do
Gray Collegiate Academy (GCA) serves high school students in a safe, small, family-centered setting who seek the opportunity and challenge of a rigorous curriculum, high academic standards, and outstanding athletics while earning up to two years of college credit while in high school.
Students graduate as responsible and contributing citizens; graduate with a high school diploma and transferable dual enrollment credits up to 60 transferable hours; graduate already immersed in the culture of college and therefore be ready to engage in coursework at higher levels; be provided the necessary coaching and skill development to be successful beyond high school; develop into leaders through athletic competition and service learning; attain educational, personal, and career-awareness skills in smaller (1:25 or lower) classes, benefit from a multi-ethnic community. GCA is where parents, business partners, administrators, students, and staff work together to create an academic, physical, emotional, social, and safe environment where everyone can learn and respect one another; acquire an education through innovative techniques to enhance lifelong learning through technology and varied instructional strategies.
